riding into darkness—far from me

Sirens

a hornblast

infant’s cry across the alley

padding feet upon the pavement

Far from mountains

Deep-taken breaths

and time

suspended

stretched

endless

intolerable…

Hard, fast, intense

Heartbeat of city streets

Gentle, patient, passion restrained
